This is a rapidly evolving emergency

As Ebola cases continue to rise, response teams need resources they can access quickly to respond effectively in challenging conditions. Your support helps provide critical communications, transportation and protective equipment where needed most.

Your support helps meet critical needs identified by response leaders, including:

  • Communications infrastructure such as phones, airtime, text messaging capabilities and mobile hotspots that help health workers stay connected and coordinate response activities.
  • Transportation, including motorcycles, that enables frontline teams to reach remote communities, investigate cases and trace contacts.
  • Safe and dignified burial kits, including personal protective equipment (PPE), that help protect responders, reduce transmission and support affected communities.

A Growing Ebola Outbreak

A deadly Ebola outbreak is accelerating—and response teams are working to contain it under increasingly strained conditions.

The current outbreak is already the largest Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak ever recorded, and there is no approved vaccine or treatment for this strain of Ebola.

The outbreak is affecting areas with limited public health infrastructure, ongoing security challenges and frequent cross-border movement. Cases related to the outbreak have also been identified outside DRC, reinforcing the need for a strong, coordinated response.

When outbreaks move this quickly, resources must move faster. Your donation helps public health partners act immediately to identify cases, trace contacts, educate communities and help stop transmission.

Every gift helps close critical gaps in the Ebola response.

Your Impact

Contributions to the CDC Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund provide flexible, real-time support to public health partners responding on the ground. Funding helps ensure critical resources, including communications tools, transportation and protective equipment, can be deployed where they are needed most as conditions evolve.

Together, we can help protect communities, save lives and stop the spread of Ebola.
