Three weeks. That’s how fast the right person was in place.
When severe storms hit North Carolina in 2024, an agreement between the CDC Foundation’s Workforce Services program and the state’s health department meant a critical emergency response role was filled in under three weeks, not the up to nine months it might otherwise have taken.
Why This Matters
Since launching in 2021, Workforce Services has helped health departments across the country fill more than 6,000 public health positions, connecting them with qualified professionals exactly when they’re needed: during emergencies and in the everyday work of public health.
September is National Preparedness Month. Readiness like this doesn’t happen by accident; it takes agreements, funding and infrastructure already in place before a crisis hits.
Your gift helps the CDC Foundation keep that readiness in place.
Every gift, at any level, helps fund the readiness that public health depends on.
Thank you for being a vital part of our mission.
